Death Plan Switch - Self-hosted dead man's switch for solo devs

Show HN: Death Plan Switch, a self-hosted dead man's switch for solo devs

Death Plan Switch is a free, MIT-licensed, self-hosted dead man's switch built for independent web developers. It emails you weekly; if you don't check in, it escalates over six days—first asking your next of kin if everything's okay, then, only if needed, sending pre-written messages to your key contacts. Running on PHP 8.1+ with no database, it ensures your clients, domains, and hosting don't vanish silently if you disappear. Simple to install and fully under your control, it's a practical safety net for one-person operations.
