Programmer builds his own monospace font from scratch in Python
Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers

Unable to find the perfect terminal font, a developer designed Nordwand Mono from scratch using Python, blending the proportions of JetBrains Mono with elements of the classic Univers typeface. The compact neo-grotesque ships with alternative characters, two minimal ligatures, and Cyrillic support. Because every glyph is drawn from a Python class, anyone can tweak metrics like x-height and cap height and regenerate a custom build.
I'm very passionate about the font I am using for my terminal and overall neovim experience, and I couldn't find the "perfect" font. So I decided to design one from scratch using python.
