South Park 제작자 Trey Parker와 Matt Stone이 에미상 수상 후 시리즈 이름을 'South America'로 바꾼다고 발표했다. 이들은 Apple과 Google의 용기와 애국심에서 영감을 받았다고 밝히며, 모회사인 Paramount를 'Skydance Capitulation'으로 감사했다. 새 이름으로 방영되는 29번째 시즌은 9월 16일 Comedy Central에서 첫 방송되며, 이후 Paramount+에서 스트리밍된다.
