Sylphide OS: a general-purpose OS for microcontroller-based computers

Sylphide OS brings a 1980s home computer feel to modern microcontrollers

Sylphide OS is a general-purpose operating system for microcontroller boards that lack an MMU, aiming to recreate the integrated, GUI-focused experience of 1980s home computers. Built on FreeRTOS, it adds drivers for keyboard, mouse, display, storage, and network, plus a window manager and desktop. Version 0.1 supports three hardware targets and an emulator, with storage, networking, and external program loading still planned. Developed by Thomas Capricelli, it is open hardware and software.

It really feels like early computers from 80's/90's, both as a user and as a programmer. This is exactly the kind of 'retrocomputing' I'm after.
