us-tax-model - Machine-checkable IRS tax forms as cited data
Show HN: A proof-of-concept formalization of the IRS federal tax forms
us-tax-model turns US federal individual income tax forms and instructions into public, cited, machine-checkable YAML data, with a guided self-preparation interview as its first client. It asks you questions, decides which forms apply, computes them, and explains every value—while never filing, signing, or transmitting anything, and keeping all data on your machine. Each line carries a citation to an archived IRS page, a closed vocabulary of ~20 atoms keeps logic readable, and Lean proofs, mutation testing, and three independent engines cross-check the results.
The software never files, signs or transmits a return, and no return data leaves the machine.
