If IPv4 Addresses Were Land, the Netherlands Would Be 48 Times Its Size
If IPv4 Were Land
A data visualization redraws the world map by giving each country an area proportional to its share of the 3.6 billion locatable IPv4 addresses rather than its physical land. The Netherlands swells 48.2 times, South Korea 43 times, and Taiwan nearly 40 times, while the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mongolia shrink by more than 200 times. IPv4 counts come from the IP Trust geolocation database.
The world has about 135 million km² of land outside Antarctica and 3.6 billion locatable IPv4 addresses. Redraw every country so its area matches its share of addresses instead of its share of ground.
