Five small Qwen models, coordinated through a shared filesystem, beat Claude Fable 5 on hard coding tasks
Five Qwen3.8-27B models match Fable 5 Using GVS5H Harness

GVS5H is a training-free orchestration method: fresh instances of a single model split up a problem and coordinate through a shared filesystem holding a plan, notes, and the current solution. On the 100 latest hard LiveCodeBench problems, orchestrated Qwen3.8 Flash Next hit 93.0% pass@1 versus Fable 5's 90.4% at 9% of the cost, while locally served Qwen3.8-27B climbed from 66.8% to 92.4%. Gains aren't universal — some models stayed flat or got worse.
Inference-time organization can approach frontier coding accuracy at a fraction of the cost, or slightly exceed it on self-hostable weights.
