Xbox Walks Away From Netflix's $500 Million Bid for Its Game Characters
Xbox Turns Down Netflix $500M Offer

Netflix reportedly offered Microsoft $500 million for a seven-year deal to adapt Xbox characters into films and shows. Microsoft countered at $800 million, and talks collapsed. Xbox says it has seen record-breaking interest in its IP and is now pursuing smaller, case-by-case deals with more partners. Current projects include a Call of Duty film at Paramount, Fallout's third season at Amazon, and a Minecraft Movie sequel.
We have received record-breaking interest in our I.P.; Netflix is a valued partner and we are excited for the forthcoming release of our Minecraft and Diablo animated series together, among other adaptations.
