WFP cuts food aid for half a million Palestinians in Gaza as funding runs dry

The World Food Programme is dropping more than 500,000 Palestinians from its food assistance rolls this month because of a funding shortfall, leaving about 1.1 million people still covered by food or cash aid. Country director Shaun Hughes called conditions in Gaza "brutal," noting daily air strikes, continued displacement and almost no one with a permanent home. Israel's attacks have killed at least 74,480 Palestinians, according to the territory's health ministry.

People are not safe. Air strikes continue on a daily basis. People continue to be displaced. Almost everybody remains without a permanent home to live in. And the humanitarian conditions are brutal.
