Alibaba open-sources AI model that can detect cancer and nearly 150 conditions

Alibabaの研究部門Damo Academyが、腹部CT画像からがんを含む146の所見を検出する視覚言語モデル「Damo Radar」をオープンソース化した。約4万件の実検査でAUC 0.913を達成し、26人の放射線科医との比較では23人を上回る精度を示した。医師の見逃し防止能力を10%向上させ、読影時間を30%以上短縮する効果も確認され、研究成果はScience誌に掲載されている。

研究チームは、この訓練手法が最終的に他の種類の医用画像にも拡張できると述べ、このモデルを「世界初の専門家レベルの汎用医用画像モデル」と呼んだ。
