プロセスをkillし、例外をthrowする粗暴なプログラミング文化に抗議する、礼儀正しい静的型付き言語Bespokeの提案。コンパイラへの依頼は「Dear Compiler, Would you be so kind as to...」と丁寧に述べ、変数の変更には謝罪を要求。型は「An Integer Number」のように正式名称で書き、真偽値はQuite TrueとPatently Falseの2つ。マナー違反には診断B-101「Blunt Imperative」が出され、コンパイルが停止する。
Dear Compiler, If it causes you no undue hardship, might we trouble you to update the value of carriageCount to 42? Much obliged.
