Pangram's new detector catches AI images with 99.96% accuracy
Introducing Pangram Image 1.0
Pangram Image 1.0 claims state-of-the-art detection of frontier AI image generators, hitting 99.96% accuracy on 1,200 synthetic mirrors of real photos and holding up against compression, edits, and low resolution down to 256x256. A lighter model, Pangram Image Flash 1.0, scores 98.7% on the DF26 video benchmark — a 29-point lead over the next best detector — and now analyzes video frame by frame. Both ship with API and Chrome extension support.
A recent academic study, DF26, showed that humans are barely better than random when it comes to telling real videos from AI videos of people talking. Modern detectors were not much better.
