Utah Files Criminal Charges Against Kalshi and Its CEO Over Online Gambling

Utah has filed 14 criminal charges against prediction market Kalshi, CEO Tarek Mansour, and COO Luana Lopes Lara, including 12 counts of illegally promoting online gambling. It escalates a nationwide legal battle: several states have sued Kalshi, Arizona filed criminal charges earlier this year before a federal judge blocked its case, and the CFTC insists it has exclusive jurisdiction. Kalshi calls the charges a "crazy overreach" and vows to fight them in court.

We look forward to putting a stop to this in court, just like we did in Arizona.
