Sixteen Colors Keeps the ANSI Art Scene Alive, One Artpack at a Time
16colo.rs – ANSI/ASCII art archive
Sixteen Colors is a public archive of ANSI and ASCII artpacks, the textmode artform that thrived on dial-up BBSes in the early nineties when rival groups like ACiD and iCE released monthly collections. The site lets visitors browse by year, search and tag packs, upload old or new collections, draw together on public PabloDraw or Moebius servers, and edit SAUCE metadata.
And although the need has almost vanished, still today artists are producing artpacks in collectives.
