Apple's new iMac packs an M6 chip and a dual 16-core Neural Engine

Apple has unveiled a new iMac built around its M6 chip, pairing a faster CPU with a Neural Accelerator in every GPU core and the first-ever Dual 16-core Neural Engine for on-device AI. It keeps the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and seven colors, supports up to 32GB of unified memory, and Apple claims it is up to 18x faster than the most popular Intel-based iMac and 12x faster than the M1 model. Pre-orders open October 28, with availability November 6.

The first-ever Dual 16-core Neural Engine makes on-device AI soar.
