Meta Employees Denounce Interference in Brazilian Elections
Workers at Meta, represented by the UK's Communication Workers Union, have signed a statement condemning what they call "obvious" and "biased" favoritism toward the Bolsonaro family in Brazilian elections. They hold company leadership responsible for decisions that could undermine democratic credibility and warn of a dangerous precedent. The statement follows protests outside Meta's London headquarters organized by Brazilian diaspora groups.
But this is the first time to our knowledge that favours made to politicians such as the Bolsonaros have been programmatically made user-facing to such an obvious and biased extent.
