LayerFS gives AI coding agents a filesystem where every tool call is a commit
LayerFS: The filesystem for AI coding agents

LayerFS is a filesystem built for AI coding agents: each agent mounts a complete writable workspace over shared committed history, works, commits its changes, and disappears. Every file call is an atomic commit on its own branch, forks cost only metadata, and ignored files like dependencies persist across mounts, so a workspace mounts in 0.05 seconds instead of taking five minutes to reinstall. Ten copies of a project compress to roughly a third of their size.
Each one mounts a complete, writable Workspace over shared committed history, does its work, commits what it changed, and goes away.
