Apple broke the iPad feature teachers rely on to present
Apple broke an essential presentation feature of iPads
A lecturer who projects handwritten notes from his iPad via AirPlay says iPadOS 27 has wrecked his workflow. Tap any window other than the presenting app and the external display flips to mirroring the whole iPad, exposing private notes, student names, and unrevealed poll results to the room. GoodNotes recovers, Keynote exits outright, and PowerPoint forces a restart. He has filed feedback with Apple and is asking others to do the same.
In Keynote, it will just exit the presentation entirely. In PowerPoint, it will put the app in a limbo where you have to restart the presentation to proceed.
