Ofcom Admits It Can't Collect Its Fines From 4chan
Ofcom Concedes Defeat in the 4chan Case

Testifying before a UK parliamentary committee, Ofcom chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes conceded that if foreign courts block enforcement, there will come a point where the regulator simply can't recover its money. Preston Byrne, who represents 4chan, frames this as a surrender: a US court already signaled it would refuse to enforce British fines that violate the First Amendment. Ofcom has hit roughly 200 American platforms with censorship orders, and only four, all Byrne's clients, pushed back.
Unless Ofcom is prepared to sail a British invasion fleet here and land ground troops, enforcement would indeed have to proceed through American courts.
