France had more exposed supermarket fridge dashboards than the rest of the world combined
France's Supermarket Fridges Were Vulnerable Online for Months

IPinfo scanned the IPv4 internet for Danfoss StoreView dashboards five days before attackers pushed hundreds of French supermarket refrigeration systems into defrost mode, heating units to 50°C and sparking fires. France had 1,331 exposed dashboards, more than the other 72 countries combined, and 85% ran software with known flaws. Most had been online for at least six months, and after the attack 76% went dark within days.
Being able to open a dashboard from the Internet doesn't mean anyone can break in through it, and nobody has said whether any of the flaws above were used.
