China's RPKI Surge Pushes Global Coverage to 70%

RPKI now validates 70.3% of Internet routes, up from 54% a year ago. China drove nearly 60% of the gain, jumping from 3.7% to 83% valid IPv4 addresses. Invalid routes barely propagate—seen by just two vantage points versus 596 for valid ones. Yet 16% of covered routes have loose ROAs, leaving an open door for hijacks like the Hetzner incident.

China's own change was extraordinary. 3.7% of its IPv4 addresses were in valid routes in September 2025, and 83.0% a year later.
