Stolen Renoir Paintings Found Hidden Behind a Cinder Block Wall

Stolen Renoir paintings found hidden, and damaged, behind cinder block wall

Two Renoir paintings stolen from a museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer were recovered after being hidden behind a solid cinder block wall. A 29-year-old suspect was charged after DNA evidence linked him to the theft. The works, together valued at $10 million, sustained slight damage: a torn canvas and a damaged frame. Six people were arrested in connection with the heist.
