This Pill Splitter Still Works Flawlessly After Ten Years
Bookofjoe's Favorite Thing: Best Pill Splitter
bookofjoe's favorite pill splitter is the Equadose, a heavy metal cutter that holds pills between precisely aligned hard blades. He bought his in 2016 and it still works as well as the day it arrived. The shielded cutting surfaces protect your fingers, and it now comes in grey and pink as well as the original blue. Skip the cheap plastic guillotine models at CVS.
If you're not completely satisfied, send me all the pill fragments that remain from your FAIL and I will take them all at once. That is the bookofjoe way.

Every uncoated pill that has a curved surface can be split by placing it on a hard surface and pressing down on opposite sides with your thumbs. The split is more accurate if it is pre-scored -- place the scoring/groove face up during the split. But even without the groove, it is rarely worse than a 55:45 split in my experience. And no, I have no idea why this story is on HN.

I don't understand what the use case for this is, would someone care to explain?
