AWS Lambda Web Functions let you deploy standard HTTP servers built with Express, Hono, Fastify, or Next.js using a single CLI command, with no adapters or rewrites. Each execution environment handles up to 128 concurrent requests, and billing is based on active CPU time rather than wall-clock duration. The service automatically scales, replicates across regions with latency-based routing, and supports canary deployments via traffic weights. It is available in five AWS regions, runs Node.js 24 on Arm64, and supports VPC connectivity.
Web Functions meter the CPU time your code uses, so time spent waiting on a database query or an API call consumes little CPU.
