Capcom's RE:Dox engine hits 2.8x faster parallel deserialization than System.Text.Json
Capcom RE:Dox, open source serialization/deserialization for game engines
RE:Dox is a high-performance, token-based structured data engine for .NET, built as a core component of Capcom's next-generation game engine. It parses JSON, CBOR, MessagePack, and more into a compact 64-bit token DOM that supports editing, format conversion, and automatic parallel deserialization. Benchmarks show up to 2.8x faster parallel deserialization, 1.8x faster sequential deserialization, and 1.6x faster serialization than System.Text.Json, with significantly lower memory allocation. Licensed under Apache-2.0.
RE:Dox combines three goals that usually conflict: the parse speed of a tape DOM, the editability of a node DOM, and the flexibility of Newtonsoft.Json.
