SLAC Opens Its Doors: Tour the 2-Mile-Long Linear Accelerator

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory invites the public to free on-site tours of its facilities, including the 2-mile-long linear accelerator that powers the world's brightest X-ray source. Tours last about 90 minutes and are offered twice a month, with registration required. Visitors must be 12 or older, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a valid photo ID. The lab also offers educational tours for school groups and a self-guided virtual tour for those who can't visit in person.
