Claude Code leaks users' email addresses to every site it visits
Claude Code sends your email address to websites
A bug report filed against Anthropic's Claude Code claims the tool embeds the user's email address in the User-Agent header during web searches, handing it to arbitrary third parties without consent. The reporter says the leak has drawn dozens of scam emails a day and argues the setting should be removed outright rather than made opt-in or opt-out. They are moving their company to Pi with OpenRouter over lost trust in Anthropic.
It does nothing for services which dislike agentic traffic, does not preserve my anonymity on the web, and is a goldmine for scammers.
