oTAPE: an open file format that brings the mixtape back

oTAPE is an open specification for digital cassettes: a single .otape file (ZIP plus JSON) holds two fixed-length sides, each one continuous take, along with the label, J-card, artwork and record tabs. It isn't a codec or a player. The reference Studio app records in real time, and optional tape-sound presets add wow, flutter, hiss and wear at playback without touching the file. The spec is open, royalty-free, and a basic player can be written in an afternoon.
oTAPE is open so your cassettes can outlive any app that plays them, including ours.
