OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra bets on visual reasoning and computer use

OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra is a fast, midrange model built around detailed visual reasoning and precise computer use, with clearer, more natural writing. Priced at $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output, it costs roughly half of GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol, and about ten times GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI's Ted Sanders calls it better than Astra and Sol at technical communication, comparable on vision and computer use but much faster, and slightly weaker elsewhere.

Terra is probably better than Astra and Sol at technical communication, similar on vision and computer use (but much faster!), and a bit worse on most other things.
