MiniLake is an MIT-licensed, open-source emulator that serves 30+ Databricks API groups on localhost:8000, so the databricks-sdk, the CLI, Terraform, Asset Bundles, and LLM agents work with no account or API key. Behind the Databricks-shaped REST surface sit DuckDB for SQL, genuine Delta files on disk, and real spark-submit jobs in containers. It also ships a 67-tool MCP server, a built-in SQL workspace, and honest 501 errors for anything it doesn't support.
