Apple gives the iPad mini its first OLED display and an A20 Pro chip

Apple's biggest iPad mini overhaul yet swaps in an 8.5-inch OLED screen with 1,200-nit peak brightness, a nano-texture option, and 24 percent thinner bezels inside the same footprint. It's just 5.4 mm thin, gains IP67 water and dust resistance, and runs on the 2-nanometer A20 Pro, which Apple claims delivers up to 4.5x faster AI performance. Wi-Fi 7, the C2 modem, and iPadOS 27 with the new Siri AI round it out. Pre-orders open October 28, with availability November 6.

With a remarkably thinner and lighter design, a stunning new OLED display, the incredibly powerful A20 Pro, and water and dust resistance, the new iPad mini is a huge leap forward for users who love having the full iPad experience in the palm of their hand.
