Flapping Airplanes raises $1B Series A to make AI radically more efficient

Flapping Airplanes has raised a $180M seed and a $1B Series A to research techniques that improve AI efficiency by co-evolving models and systems. Its megakernel framework can run training, inference, and even video games in a single kernel, using unconventional architectures and optimizers. The startup argues that demand for AI will outpace data and compute, so the companies that win will be those that use resources most efficiently.

It can already perform entire training runs, serve inference, play video games, and even do all three simultaneously in a single kernel.

Where is it? Can we see it? Test it? Play with it?

Flapping wings because ... rigid wings were too energy efficient?

Anyway, the post tells me little. Aren't the big AI labs already doing all these things?

I thought this was a joke, but apparently it isn't.
