ra-jit turns rust-analyzer into a compiler daemon for live Rust edits
24x faster Rust compilation with rust-analyzer

Indexable's ra-jit builds a Rust compiler daemon on top of rust-analyzer, delivering fast incremental cargo builds and hot-reload-style edits to running programs. It uses Cranelift by default, with LLVM available behind a feature flag, and ships as a crates.io package installable via cargo or nix run. The project, forked from DioxusLabs' rustd, targets live coding and developer tooling, with a Game of Life demo showing edits applied to a running binary.
The daemon wakes the program on a datagram socket next to the patch instead of the program polling every 30 ms, and Live::apply_as_they_come applies each patch on that thread.
