Android apps running native on macOS

Mac.apk runs Android apps natively on Apple Silicon with no emulator

Mac.apk is an alpha-stage open-source project that runs Android apps directly on Apple Silicon Macs as ordinary macOS processes, drawing through the Mac's GPU and executing at native speed. There's no emulator, no virtual machine, and no Linux kernel underneath; it reimplements the Android application environment on top of macOS. Of 65 apps tested by hand, 51 are fully playable, 10 partly work, and 4 don't run yet. It's AGPL-3.0 licensed, signed and notarized by Apple.

An Android app running under Mac.apk runs as ordinary native code with your macOS user account's permissions. There is no phone-style app sandbox around it: it can read and write your files the same way any Mac app you run can.
