Pele – Mermaid diagrams as themeable SVG
Pele is a zero-dependency renderer that turns Mermaid syntax into themeable SVG. It supports every diagram type in Mermaid 12.1.0, ships at 230 kB gzipped versus 1.6 MB, and renders in 0.05–0.3 ms compared to Mermaid.js's 6–82 ms. Colors and fonts are set via CSS variables without re-rendering. Developed for Obsidian and open source, it adapts layouts to small screens.

Anytime I try mermaid for anything more complex than a toy diagram I always end up absolutely frustrated by the arcane and topologically poor layout that is produced.
Styling seems like a trivial problem by comparison.

Tools like this are so amazing because they allow Claude to edit and draw and save to a single markdown file. So practical! Version control friendly. People can use them, sure. Buy AI can really take off with tools like this.

I tried to find the source code of it but I was unable in finding so
