Neofetch's creator left coding for a farm in Greece, and a friend went to see it
A week on the farm with Dylan Araps

Adam Schaefers first met Dylan Araps on IRC years ago, when Araps was building KISS Linux and Schaefers became its second-biggest committer. Then Araps vanished, resurfacing in 2024 with a profile note: "Have taken up farming." In January 2026 he explained the burnout behind it. Schaefers flew to Greece to visit the WILD Project, a WWOOF host growing grapes and olives, and found a family chasing self-sufficiency, hard questions at the dinner table, and a life he calls KISS Linux in real life.
Dylan and his family may be out of the software business, but I reckon they're in the truth-seeking business, the philosophy business.
