Oxide's Voxel Labs Emulates a Full Rack on a Mini-PC
Virtual Oxide Labs: Emulating a Full Oxide Rack

Oxide Computer's Product Assurance team built Voxel, a software emulation stack that runs a complete Oxide rack—sleds, switches, and microcontrollers—on a single mini-PC. Using Propolis VMs, SoftNPU, and emulated Cortex-M cores, it faithfully runs stock Oxide software without special test builds. A full rack launches in about 10 minutes, enabling realistic testing of diverse customer topologies.
There really is no "run real microcontrollers as virtual devices with this one neat trick!" I can think of. But the real challenge of sp-emu’s job is time.
