OpenAI discovered a sophisticated recording device hidden in one of its offices. Using its own models, the company traced the device to a specific employee who had planted it days earlier. The matter was referred to the FBI, leading to an arrest. The employee was terminated, and OpenAI says there is no indication that model weights, source code, or customer data were improperly accessed or exfiltrated.
