How Do Cuttlefish Hide?

Scientists create the first transgenic cuttlefish to reveal how camouflage works in the brain

Researchers at Columbia University have engineered the first transgenic cuttlefish, inserting foreign genes into its DNA and passing them to future generations. The goal is to make neurons flash when active, allowing scientists to map how a colorblind animal perceives its surroundings and projects them onto its skin in as little as a second. The work could illuminate how a brain radically different from ours represents the visual world.

It’s showing you its perception of the world. No other animal can show you what it sees or tell you what it sees except a human.
