Hackers Heat French Supermarket Fridges, Sparking Fires and Food Losses

Carrefour says 80 of its supermarkets were hit by hackers who remotely raised refrigerator temperatures, causing fires and food spoilage. The vast majority of its 6,000 stores were unaffected. The incident resembles an attack on US military commissaries a month earlier, raising questions about the scale and whether AI tools are enabling such operations.

Usually i'd feel like this was a large-scale operation but there's no denying that AI tools can copy/parrot/clone this type of work near instantaneously, so who knows.
