Bitwarden announced that starting with the next release, its app store builds will use a commercial license instead of GPLv3. The open-source version remains on GitHub, and all current features are available in both. Self-hosting and the free plan are unchanged. The change targets those repackaging and reselling Bitwarden. Future components may be commercial-only, with new features evaluated case-by-case.
