Microsoft brings Linux containers natively to Windows with WSL containers
WSL containers is now generally available – Windows Developer Blog

WSL containers are now generally available, letting developers build and run Linux containers directly on Windows via the wslc.exe CLI or API. The release adds lifecycle and networking commands, health checks, and enterprise controls through Intune and Defender for Endpoint. Microsoft is also working on wslc compose support and core WSL improvements, including up to 2x faster cross-OS file access and a new consomme network mode.
Over time, we see Linux on Windows evolving beyond a development environment into a strategic execution platform for AI and cloud-native workloads, participating in the same enterprise security, management, and governance frameworks as Windows.
