Young men's mental health is in freefall, and experts warn it could get worse
The mental health of young men is declining. Experts warn it could get worse
Depression, anxiety, and addiction are rising sharply among young men in Canada. Federal data show mood disorders among men aged 15–24 jumped from 11% to 16% between 2012 and 2022, while those rating their mental health as very good or excellent fell from 70% to 52%. Social media, online gambling, and the manosphere are blamed. A new federal strategy is promised by early 2027.
