Video Game History Foundation's Digital Archive Hits 5,000 Magazines, Adds Japanese Support

VGHF Digital Archive passes 5000 magazines. Here's what's next

The Video Game History Foundation's digital archive now holds over 5,000 magazines—nearly 600,000 pages spanning 1981 to 2026—and has become Wikipedia's preferred source for out-of-print game magazines. The archive now supports Japanese-language magazines, starting with the complete run of Neo Geo Freak, using OCR accurate enough for vertical text and right-to-left layouts. The VGHF plans to add another 70,000 pages in the coming years.

We believe the result is the most accurate text-searchable Japanese magazines currently in any digital archive.
