Figure AI melts its F.02 robots in Finland with a little help from Arnold Schwarzenegger

Figure AI decommissioned its F.02 robot fleet by melting the robots in a Finnish foundry. After Arnold Schwarzenegger suggested the idea online, the company trained a new AI model in simulation to make the robots jump autonomously into a 75-ton electric arc furnace. The resulting metal bars are now being machined into limited-edition artifacts commemorating F.02.
In an age of AI-generated footage, it’s worth being clear: we really trained robots to jump autonomously, shipped them to Finland, and had them leap into a vat of molten steel.
