Physicist proposes N-operator correlators to measure quantum information spreading
Quantum information spreading via higher-order operator correlators
M Süzen introduces N-operator correlators (NOC), a generalization of the out-of-time-ordered correlator (OTOC) inspired by cosmological N-point functions. By incorporating more than two operators, NOC captures a broader set of measurement probes for quantum information spreading. The paper demonstrates the approach on two analytically tractable toy systems—a single qubit in a longitudinal field and an XYZ two-qubit system—computing thermal averages of operator time evolutions at finite temperature.
Such formulation can reduce the effect of restricted analysis associated with selecting only two operators for OTOC.
