Matt Mullenweg reclaims Automattic CEO role two days after board ousted him
Matt Mullenweg reportedly returns as Automattic CEO 2 days after getting booted
Matt Mullenweg is back as Automattic CEO just two days after the board placed him on paid leave and named CFO Mark Davies interim chief. In a Slack message, Mullenweg said the board is “back in agreement” and he is “in control of Automattic.” Davies’ Slack account has been deactivated, and Mullenweg removed all admins from the company’s Slack. WordPress Executive Director Mary Hubbard welcomed his return.
