Hard-Chat is an open-source, browser-based peer-to-peer chat that leaves zero trace: no server, no accounts, no stored history. It uses WebRTC for direct connection, AES-GCM 256-bit encryption with PBKDF2 key derivation, and a 100-character Room Key for pairing. Messages live only in RAM and vanish when the tab closes. However, it protects content, not identity—IP metadata is visible to third-party services like GitHub Pages and PeerJS, so a VPN is recommended. Ideal for security researchers and privacy enthusiasts.
