The keywords targeted topics like diversity, equity, and inclusion, climate change, and other politically sensitive areas. The NSF's list, derived from a Ted Cruz report, included terms like 'injustice' and 'minority,' while the NIH flagged phrases such as 'structural racism' and 'health equity.' The agencies admitted to using these lists to cancel grants en masse without individual review, leading to allegations of First Amendment violations.
The agencies cut grants if researchers' projects 'expressed, or were presumed to express, viewpoints disfavored by the Administration.'

"Humanities" is literally on the list. As in, do not fund any Humanities research.
Also not allowed to use "solar energy", "Geothermal energy", "EV infrastructure", "electrification", "Hydrogen energy".

Math professors at my alma mater were instructed to remove references to “inequalities” to increase their chances of getting funded. The <= and >= type of inequalities.
