The Red Strings Club: A Cyberpunk Bartending Adventure That Falls Flat

In this personal review, the author shares their experience playing The Red Strings Club, a cyberpunk narrative game from Devolver Digital. They praise the world-building, soundtrack, and pixel art, but criticize the drink-mixing mechanic and convoluted story arcs that can lead to soft-locking. Despite enjoying the atmosphere, they rate it 2 out of 5, with an extra point for the soundtrack.
I give The Red Strings Club a score of 2 out of 5 points, but award it a whole extra point for the soundtrack.

> My problem with having many different choices that will actually have consequences for the game play is that I’m always worried I didn’t choose the best path through the game. But my main issue with having a lot of options, is that I won’t get to experience the whole story without playing through the game multiple times.
As someone who's often annoyed by games that make you choose between dialogue options that all lead to the exact same result, this criticism alone was enough to convince me to buy the game.

I've never played the game, but songs from their soundtrack are all over my Spotify playlists. Great music, always meant to check it out on Steam.

What a surprise to see this game here. I love the story driven games published by Devolver.
